However, it can still be called as a country to prevent confusion among the tourists who come to this region. This union has been form hundreds of years ago and it is also known as the short-form name, Britain or Great Britain. However, Britain does not represent all of the countries in the union where Ireland is excluded, leaving only England, Wales and Scotland.

If you fancy taking a trip to the road less travelled, you can go to the city of Durham which is located in a country with the same name. It is located to the north east of England and some of the nearby cities here are Sunderland and Newcastle Upon Tyne. Durham is popularly known as a place to see the magnificent cathedral here. Durham Cathedral is a historic structure where it was built close to one thousand years ago, and you will be able to see the Romanesque architectural style that made the cathedral special.

The cathedral has three towers in total and you can go to the top of the tower to see the magnificent view here. As the tower is quite high, you will climb a total of 325 steps to go to the top, but all your hard work and sweat will be worth it after you see the greatest view on top of the tower. Travel Attractions of the Week: Vienna, Austria

Every week I am going to feature different tourist attractions, nice scenery and views from different countries which was visited by my family and friends. Since I am just a virtual traveler this time, I asked permission from them to post their travel photos here in my travel blog. All their photos are credited from them and I’d like to thank them for being so kind and so supportive to me.

For this week I am featuring the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria which was visited by my friend who works as a cabin crew of Emirates airlines. She was so blessed in having this kind of job because she has the chance to travel around the world and visit many beautiful countries and nice places just like Vienna. This city is conveniently located on the rail lines between Venice, Budapest, and Prague, the crossroads between Eastern and Western Europe.

Vienna stands at the heart of Europe, smack on the intersection between the East and West. It also makes for a great home base for exploring Central Europe like Germany, The Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovania, Italy and Switzerland.

If  you like history, classical musical heritage, architecture and grand palaces are among your interests, then you must visit Vienna. If music and the outdoors is your interest check out the Summer Music Festivals in Austria, which are spectacular. Perhaps a River Cruise on the Danube River is on your itinerary.

Vienna is a huge city with lots of sightseeing, restaurant, nightlife and accommodation.  As you tour around this city, you’ll soon discover that there’s so much more attractions that Austria has to offer.

5 Dream Honeymoon Island

The big day is over, the dress is being tucked away in storage, the repeat presents are being returned and the photos are being sorted through and carefully displayed around the house. But there is one more treat in store before you start your happy domestic years of married life. The honeymoon.

We all know that however you met, whether through a singles Liverpool website or through friends, this is the part of the wedding ceremony you’ve been secretly looking forward to the most. But sometimes honeymoon planning can be overlooked in the chaos of throwing together the enormous event of a wedding. When the crucial time comes, will you have chosen the right place? Here are five knock-out honeymoon destinations to choose from if you’re still deciding…

Cephalonia

If you’ve read Captain Corelli’s Mandolin you’ll be at no loss to understand why this quaint Greek island made it on to this list. For Cephalonia is the setting of De Burnier’s heart-wrenching tale, and his description of the place would rouse anyone’s curiosity. A place of simple village life, of snails and goats, of stunning beaches, of crystal clear waters and sunlight of such intensity it takes days to acclimatise to. What better place for a romantic honeymoon?

Sardinia

Sitting just below Corsica, this Italian island is the second largest in the Mediterranean Sea. Famous for its seafood and a strange-tasting berry they use to make particularly pungent liquor, Sardinia is the perfect place to imbibe the alternative side of Italian culture. A year-round relaxed atmosphere permeates the island, ideal for a honeymoon of watching sunsets and savouring delicious meals by the lapping ocean.

Sri Lanka

If you want an off-the-beaten-track honeymoon adventure then look no further than Sri Lanka. This teardrop-shaped island tucked in beside India is a wonderfully varied country. From its gorgeous Southern beaches to its cooler central mountainous regions, there’s plenty to keep you occupied. See the mile-long carnival of elephants, musicians and fire dancers in Kandy. Visit a Buddhist temple at the full moon and join in the nationwide celebrations of that day. For excitement in a whole new and different culture, Sri Lanka is the place to be.

Bali

Another alternative honeymoon island, Bali, will also throw you headlong into another culture. But that’s not to say tourists aren’t welcome here, this is a very popular destination for many travellers, especially backpackers. Temple ceremonies, dances, volcanoes, unforgettable beaches – this Indonesian island may be small but it has everything.

Fiji

On almost exactly the other side of the world from us sits the collection of islands known as Fiji. This idyllic country would suit any honeymooner, whether you met on an eHarmony UK dating site or at school. Here you will find white beaches, blue seas and an amazing variety of vibrant marine life. Fiji is the ultimate and most convincing honeymoon cliché. But it’s just low enough on the radar not to have been ruined by popularity.

Any of these five locations would be perfect for an exotic honeymoon. Just make sure you don’t rush the decision or leave it to the last minute.

Top Must See Places In Australia

Australia is a highly sought after holiday destination. The nation attracts millions of people every year due to its iconic cities, landmarks and famed laid-back atmosphere. It is the perfect place if you want to go on a backpacker’s holiday or use cheap car rentals to explore the huge continent. Likewise, it has a great number of chic and luxury hotels and resorts to stay in, so if you want top quality comfort, then you’ll certainly be able to indulge. With so many places to see you may want to plan on going to Australia for longer than the normal two week holiday period. And if you’re visiting this wonderful country there are a number of top spots that you should try and include on your itinerary.

Australia is a vast place, and whilst you may think that you’ll be able to nip around from city to city, you’ll actually need to allow extensive journeying time between each one. Whilst you may want to take flights for domestic travel across the country, another great way to get around is by using car rentals. This allows you the freedom and luxury to travel when and where you want at your own pace. And by avoiding public transport you won’t have to constantly carry your bags and be tied to scheduled departure times.

Three top things often come to mind when you think of Australia; Aires Rock, Sydney Opera House and The Great Barrier Reef. These are all fantastic spots to visit, though they are rather far apart from each other so you’ll need to allow ample travel time. Aires Rock, or Uluru, is a sacred place for the Aborigines but has become a tourist hotspot, with the red rock monolith rising out of the outback an iconic scene. Sydney is also a top spot for tourists, and with its Harbour Bridge and the architecturally magnificent Opera House you’ll be able to indulge in some of the most famed landmarks in the entire world. The aquarium, zoo and Sydney Tower are also top spots to visit if you’re exploring this vibrant city. And if you enjoy scuba diving or snorkelling, then heading to The Great Barrier Reef will allow you to discover one of the world’s most famous marine landscapes.

There are many more things to do in Australia though than visiting these three hotspots. If you’re staying in Melbourne then a three-hour drive to Great Ocean Road is ideal if you’re utilising car rentals, and you’ll be able to see the rock formations called the 12 apostles. More weather eroded rock sculptures exist north of Perth, and The Pinnacles located in the Namburg National Park are a must see. Tasmania is also a great attraction, and whilst not always on the wish list, offers incredibly beautiful beaches and mountains in addition to a huge array of native flora and fauna.

Australia is a large place and its enormity may overwhelm you when you first arrive. But, by carefully planning your schedule you can ensure that you see as many of its top spots in your first visit before starting to plan returning time and time again.

Marvilla Beach Resort

My family and I was invited to attend the birthday celebration of my brother in law’s mom who is also used to be the nanny of my daughter before. We head off to one of the popular local beach in Opol, Misamis Oriental. Opol is about 11 kilometers west from Cagayan de Oro City. We enjoyed the birthday party at Marvilla Beach Resort.

Marvilla beach is one of the best gray-sand beach in the province of Misamis Oriental where one can truly experience the sea, sand and the sun.

The beach has an entrance fee of P10.00 per adult and P5.00 for children. They have a store that offers cold drinks and beverages. You can also enjoy videoke singing and billiard playing at their recreational nipa hut place.

Their cocohut beach cottages ranges from P100 to P200. It’s really cheap and affordable!

The fine beach sand of Opol and its beautiful and relaxing beach view is what I love here at Marvilla beach.

Spending the whole day and even staying overnight here in Marvilla beach resort is really such a fun and enjoyable moment to spend with together with your family and friends.

Tannenmühle Hotel and German Continental Restaurant

My mom recently had a tour visit together with her boyfriend and her friends at Tannenmühle Hotel and Wellness  in Grafenhausen, Germany. This pretty guest house  features a petting zoo, an adventure playground and a restaurant specialising in fish dishes. Tannenmühle provides country-style rooms with wooden furniture and satellite TV. Rooms are located in the main hotel building and in the charming guest house. Some of these rooms include a balcony.

If you’re looking for something different for dinner, you can try Black Forest Inn’s German continental cuisine where they serve German inspired dishes. It is the only restaurant in the area that offers truly authentic German cooking. The restaurant is decorated in an old world German style, with paintings  and more and it is considered as a well-established German Continental restaurant.

A Tour of Classic European Style Homes

I really admire looking at these classic European inspired homes just like this beautiful European house that my mom took during her tour in Regensberg, Zürich, Switzerland. European house is such a reminder of the beauty and history of the Old Country.

Its design features  with brick, stone or stucco exteriors present an elegant look with rich, ornamental detailing. European houses has a distinct look and feel. It has great architectural elements from French country, Spanish, Italian, and Mediterranean house plans.

I’m one of those people who fell  in love with the idea of a European house. It looks so sophisticated and luxurious because of the blend of modern and historical, its beautiful form and style where people could appreciate its beauty.

European style house plans nowadays offer grand exteriors and exquisite ornamental details. This style offers as many architectural influences as diverse as the countries from which they originate. European house plans have quite a romantic feel that is reminiscent of castles of long ago.

European style home plans offer a touch of elegance and refined style and they are a reminder of the history and the beauty of the Old Country while exhibiting that old world charm. It’s all about the sense of luxury inside and out. If luxury and expansive living areas with a touch of elegance are your criteria for your dream home plan, then perhaps European style house are exactly your style.

Villagracia Beach

Villagracia beach is one of my favorite beach here in Cagayan de Oro City. It is located in Bonbon and its not quite far from our place. We usually spend our family bonding here and also if we have a beach outing and activities together with our fellow church members.

I really love this beach. Its clean, not too crowded and the scenic and panoramic view is simply beautiful and so relaxing to look at.

It’s so cheap and affordable too! The beach cottages only ranges from P100 to P350. It is open 24 hours. They also have lodging and function hall.

My sister, her friend and my daughter enjoying the beach

If you love beaches, then you will surely enjoy this one too!
