Six Tips for Storing Travel Documents On Holiday

You shouldn’t have to worry about losing your important travel documents while on holiday. Here are some keys steps to take to protect your documents:

1. Decide What Documents to Bring With You

There’s no reason to have to manage and protect more documents that are strictly necessary. You’ll definitely need your passport, as well as your own country’s main form of identification, whether a driver’s license or identification card.

You’ll also want printouts of travel documents that confirm critical services you’ve purchased. This includes transportation, hotel, proof of health insurance, and traveler check purchase receipts. Lastly, you’ll certainly have at least one credit card.

Don’t bring anything you don’t need. Clear out your wallet of credit cards you won’t use abroad, as well as any other cards or documents that if lost, could be used by someone else to take your identity.

2. Create Copies

You want at least two sets of copies of every document you’ve identified under as a critical document. The first set of copies should be left with a trusted family member of friend back at home. The second set of copies you’ll carry along with you as you travel.

If you’re especially conscientious, you may leave a copy of your documents with more than one person in your home country. However, do make certain these are people you trust as you are literally handing them your most important information.

3. Write Down Critical Information

In addition to having the actual documents and copies, it is also handy to have a cheat sheet with relevant information. Most people travel with some sort of journal. You can write down important numbers, like e-tickets, passport numbers, or credit card numbers, in shorthand so you have them all in one place.

This cheat sheet will be very helpful in an emergency if you’ve lost your wallet. However, do note that it will make your journal an important document that needs protecting as well. You’ll have to decide if the trade-off is worth it.

4. Use A Travel Wallet to Transport Your Documents

Ideally, you’ll have two document organizers. One you use to carry your original documents with you as you walk around each day. The other document organizer is the one holding your copies that you leave back in your hotel safe. If you’re really nice, you’ll put your document copies in an organizer for those holding copies back home.

5. Store Your Documents Safely At The Hotel

Your document copies should be locked up in your hotel room’s safe when you leave your room each day. Use a code for the safe that you don’t need to write down. Your ATM bank code can be a good choice since it’s a number you know by memory.

If your hotel room doesn’t have a safe, the hotel should offer a secure way to store your documents at reception. This might mean a safety box to which you’ll be the only one with key. In some cases, reception will put your documents into an envelope and store it in a general safe. If this the case, sign the sealed envelope along its seal. This way, you’ll know when you get it back that the envelope hasn’t been opened.

6. Carrying Your Original Documents While Touring

Any document you don’t need to carry with you, such as hotel reservations or airline tickets, leave safely back at your hotel.

The documents you do need to carry around should be in a zipped pocket or wallet that’s in the interior of your clothes or bag. Then, it’s just a matter of being aware of your surroundings and your documents.

Holidays with Everything: The Algarve

The Algarve has got something on offer for every style of holiday imaginable. Whether you like your holidays fast and furious with an array of watersports and adrenalin-pumping activities, or you’re into family-orientated days by the beach making sand castles and paddling in the shallows, this is one holiday destination that can deliver them all.

Whether you plump for basic self-catering accommodation, your own private villa or opt for all inclusive, holidays in Algarve offer plenty of choice and can provide more than enough options to suit even the smallest of budgets.

One of the best ways to visit the Algarve is as part of a package holiday. So-called because they’ve been boxed up to include return flights, accommodation, resort transfers and with the support of a local representative, this style of break is not for everyone but has certainly proven to be the travel of choice for millions of tourists, who happily visit local and far-flung destinations every year through tour operators both large and small.

Take Thomas Cook holidays for instance. One of the UK’s most established tour operators, Thomas Cook has been helping tourists go on holiday for decades and covers a vast range of destinations right across the globe. The Algarve is among one of the most popular, partly due to its classic combination of sun, sea and sand – but also because of its short flight time and affordability.

It’s this ease of accessibility that contributes to its relatively low costs, along with regular discounts by tour operators, late deals and the option to spread the cost of the holiday booking over a period of time. With families being squeezed by financial pressures and travel becoming an unaffordable luxury, holiday companies will do everything they can to hold onto your custom – which is great news for those of us who love a good bargain.

A Rare Experience in Durham, UK

Nobody in the world that has never heard of the place named United Kingdom, but not all of them know what United Kingdom really is. United Kingdom is not really a country, as it is more of a union that consists of several countries. However, it can still be called as a country to prevent confusion among the tourists who come to this region. This union has been form hundreds of years ago and it is also known as the short-form name, Britain or Great Britain. However, Britain does not represent all of the countries in the union where Ireland is excluded, leaving only England, Wales and Scotland.

To know more on the history of United Kingdom and why the union was made a couple of centuries ago, you can come to the museums that are scattered all over the country. United Kingdom is a big island, so the best way to get inside the country is by airplanes. There are many airports in United Kingdom that handles international flights so you can rest assured that tickets to this country will never be sold out. If you need a car for moving around, you can always use the amazingly cheap car hire UK services that are available at all airports in the country.

If you fancy taking a trip to the road less travelled, you can go to the city of Durham which is located in a country with the same name. It is located to the north east of England and some of the nearby cities here are Sunderland and Newcastle Upon Tyne. Durham is popularly known as a place to see the magnificent cathedral here. Durham Cathedral is a historic structure where it was built close to one thousand years ago, and you will be able to see the Romanesque architectural style that made the cathedral special.

The cathedral has three towers in total and you can go to the top of the tower to see the magnificent view here. As the tower is quite high, you will climb a total of 325 steps to go to the top, but all your hard work and sweat will be worth it after you see the greatest view on top of the tower. From the top, you will be able to see the whole city of Durham from a bird eye’s view and this is truly a spectacular sight. Durham is a popular town among the less popular places to be in United Kingdom but it is still a great venue for your holiday if you prefer a place with less tourists.

Top Must See Places In Australia

Australia is a highly sought after holiday destination. The nation attracts millions of people every year due to its iconic cities, landmarks and famed laid-back atmosphere. It is the perfect place if you want to go on a backpacker’s holiday or use cheap car rentals to explore the huge continent. Likewise, it has a great number of chic and luxury hotels and resorts to stay in, so if you want top quality comfort, then you’ll certainly be able to indulge. With so many places to see you may want to plan on going to Australia for longer than the normal two week holiday period. And if you’re visiting this wonderful country there are a number of top spots that you should try and include on your itinerary.

Australia is a vast place, and whilst you may think that you’ll be able to nip around from city to city, you’ll actually need to allow extensive journeying time between each one. Whilst you may want to take flights for domestic travel across the country, another great way to get around is by using car rentals. This allows you the freedom and luxury to travel when and where you want at your own pace. And by avoiding public transport you won’t have to constantly carry your bags and be tied to scheduled departure times.

Three top things often come to mind when you think of Australia; Aires Rock, Sydney Opera House and The Great Barrier Reef. These are all fantastic spots to visit, though they are rather far apart from each other so you’ll need to allow ample travel time. Aires Rock, or Uluru, is a sacred place for the Aborigines but has become a tourist hotspot, with the red rock monolith rising out of the outback an iconic scene. Sydney is also a top spot for tourists, and with its Harbour Bridge and the architecturally magnificent Opera House you’ll be able to indulge in some of the most famed landmarks in the entire world. The aquarium, zoo and Sydney Tower are also top spots to visit if you’re exploring this vibrant city. And if you enjoy scuba diving or snorkelling, then heading to The Great Barrier Reef will allow you to discover one of the world’s most famous marine landscapes.

There are many more things to do in Australia though than visiting these three hotspots. If you’re staying in Melbourne then a three-hour drive to Great Ocean Road is ideal if you’re utilising car rentals, and you’ll be able to see the rock formations called the 12 apostles. More weather eroded rock sculptures exist north of Perth, and The Pinnacles located in the Namburg National Park are a must see. Tasmania is also a great attraction, and whilst not always on the wish list, offers incredibly beautiful beaches and mountains in addition to a huge array of native flora and fauna.

Australia is a large place and its enormity may overwhelm you when you first arrive. But, by carefully planning your schedule you can ensure that you see as many of its top spots in your first visit before starting to plan returning time and time again.

Riding on a Private Jet Plane

Riding on a private jet plane could mean luxury for others but there are actually some benefits when you choose private flights, why? because it provides you with a wide range of benefits which is perfect for  your travel needs. If you want to take a break from the usual routine of commercial flights and you want to have some privacy, then choosing a private plane is the right one for you.

There are options that are available when it comes to customizing a private flight. I have known it from my mom’s friends who already flew in a private flight.  They are in group and their needs was met including the catering services. They are also offered with different options that was best suited for their group.

I can say that there is a great freedom when we fly in private. It certainly creates a relaxing atmosphere and the financial  and time efficiency can also make the trip even more relaxing. If you live the kind of lifestyle in which time is money, then private flights are perfect for you. It’s all about your ability to relax and the flexibility which is offered by private flights.

You can  even avail for private jet cards if you want a flexible option in choosing the type of aircraft that you want. It also provides you with personal assistance through the entire booking process so it will be a breeze for you to ride on a private jet plane.

Planning a Vacation within Your Budget

While it may be fun to go on vacation with the entire family, this thought is often out on hold due to budget restrictions. With the economy still on a struggling state, most families are on a struggle to make ends meet and because of this, plans of going on a trip has to take the sideline. Yes, travel expenses could take a heavy toll on your pocket but it doesn’t have to be the case especially if you know how to plan ahead of time.

It is possible to plan a vacation even on a tight budget. The internet is still the best place to search for affordable vacation packages that are perfect for families or big groups. Start your search by having a clear idea on your destination, days of stay and desired activities during the trip.

Being organized will make your online search easier and faster. Rather than having to make separate reservations, it is ideal to get group packages that are inclusive of airfare, accommodations and tour fees. This could provide with more savings and you would only have to deal with one travel agent in case you have to make some changes.

The best way to get a good discount is to pick an off-season date. Most hotels and other tourist destinations offer lower rates due to a lower number of tourists. Take advantage of this offer and enjoy the experience without the busy crowd. Planning ahead will also allow you to save regularly which means you don’t need to make one big spending for your family trip.

Why I Like Solo Travel

I actually haven’t tried traveling in a long trip from a far away place alone but if I ever got the chance, then I would gladly accept it. I find it an exciting adventure because I can enjoy my complete freedom. I can choose to satisfy my every desire and indulgence. I can wander in the streets without a travel partner in annoyance. There is no need to sacrifice any plan for the sake of compromise, right?

This is will serve as a challenge for myself and this challenge can make me stronger. I am not responsible to anyone so every wrong step that I take, then its my fault. What I also like about having a solo travel is that I can attain deeper insights or rather I can retreat into the deepest recesses of my mind and imagination.

I am some kind of a loner sometimes and this would be a great way for me to have my own peace of mind. I find being a solitary wanderer an observant person since you  become more curious and active in your new environment. You can meet different people and despite of the language barrier, I know that it will end up in friendship.

There are so many things that you can learn when you travel alone and you can learn more tips and ideas when you visit the Solitary Wanderer‘s blog. And oh! before I forget, this lady explorer is celebrating her 2nd Anniversary Blog Giveaway where six (6) winners of cash prizes—one (1) winner of $30, two (2) winners of $20, and three (3) winners of $10—and eight (8) winners of various travel-related, beauty, and food products, all in all worth P8,000+!

Riding on the World’s Largest Passenger Jet

I remember when my mom shared to  me her enjoyable experience with Singapore Airlines A380 a year ago.  Her flight was from Zurich, Switzerland to Singapore.  She told me how huge the plane is. The Airbus A380 is actually the largest jet airliner ever built and its the world’s first full double-deck passenger aircraft.

My mom who is working at the airport of Swiss Airlines also told me that the airport where she used to work with even redesigned the airport to accommodate this huge plane.  It can pack in more passengers and cargo than any other commercial airliner, yet its designers claim it will actually increase efficiency, uses less fuel and also generate less noise.

A plane this size can potentially carry hundreds more passengers than today’s airliners. The A380′s two passenger decks can take on up to 840 passengers. Wow! I couldn’t wait to ride on this passenger jet as our connecting plane soon when we spend our holiday in Zurich.

When You Buy Tickets Online

I actually haven’t tried buying airline tickets online but my mom did since she usually spend her holiday here once a year. She is busy with her work and she doesn’t have time to go to a traveling agency that’s why she just prefer to book her flight online. She finds it very convenient because with just a few clicks, she can confirm her reservation and pay for the ticket using her credit card.

There are a lot of travel websites that have the facility to compare airline ticket prices across many different airlines. You just simply specify your date and time of travel and the search engine will do the rest. Not just that, the airfare search engine will also pick up the best deals and discounts offered by any airline companies.

Buying airline tickets online makes our life easier because it saves our time and effort in going to nearest travel agency office and everything can be done at the comfort of our own home.
